![]() ![]() ![]() There is something to be said about the BIMCloud Server storage speed requirement. After the drive is mapped, as long as the NAS is online and has the static IP, the OS should mount it to the drive letter and allow BIMCloud to use it as a storage option. ![]() This article goes over how to map a network drive in Windows 10: If you're using MacOS, the process will be different but Google is your friend. To me, it sounds like the computer with the server software doesn't have a drive letter mapped to the NAS. I don't have any experience with Synology so I would personally go through the router. ![]() Make sure that your NAS has a static IP either through your router or the NAS itself. To help in further debugging: Which OS is the computer you installed BIMCloud on running? What BIMCloud software exactly are you running(Manager, Server, DataCache)? Wondering if I build a server whats the best option? I’ve never built one so I’m all ears. Keeping it is in my best option monetarily. I just bought the NAS and the return period ended yesterday which I’m pretty annoyed about. Should I build a windows server to replace the NAS?Ĭan I keep the current NAS server configuration and adjust some settings to make it work? (Preferable)Īny other configuration I can’t think of? Should I build a windows server and point it to the NAS? maybe windows has an easier time? This has caused a lot of issues in the last week and I don’t know what I should do? However, as you may assume that was causing issues because every time our computers are shut down and restarted the server installed on said computer can’t find the NAS storage or finds it and connects under a different name so the server still can’t find it. This was a suggestion seen on a lot of the bimCLOUD forums. My immediate solution was to install the software on the most powerful computer (macOS) we have in the office and point all the data storage locations to the NAS. Currently running a NAS server via synology however the software requirements for bimCloud are limited to Windows and macOS. We run a home office architecture firm with 3-5 employees. ![]()
